We launched our community because we understand the importance of community for wellness and out of a desire to provide a great resource to our hive! We’ve also been lucky to benefit from all the goodness that community brings. Katina shared some of our top learnings so far last week. Today, I wanted to share my experience with our community thus far!
Friendly Advice
Sometimes you just need a sounding board when you are struggling with an issue at work. Coworkers can be a great ear but not for everything. Have you ever needed help with changing employers? Or needed a fresh perspective from someone not stuck in the situation? It can be helpful to get external advice when you don’t know what to do.

I love to share ideas with people that need advice. But, I’m happy to report that it’s not just myself or Katina sharing our thoughts. The community has been a great place to bounce ideas off of each other – workplace wellness-related or otherwise. For example, one of our members shared a tough situation with a leader that still struggles with the idea of remote work. Many of us chimed in with ideas on how to approach the issue. It was interesting to see the variety of perspectives and I’m happy to say that one of the ideas actually helped! I am so grateful to have a group of people willing to share friendly advice!
Quick Support
Sometimes you don’t need advice but just want someone to listen. Someone to share bad or good news with after a particularly interesting day! Our community has been so great for that too. Everyone is so supportive and kind. Katina mentioned celebrating wins in the community and it’s so true! We can share accomplishments and get positive feedback. We can also vent and be heard by sympathetic peers. I don’t think I realized how nice it would be to jump into one of our chats and share something that happened during my day.

New Friends
Finally, a wonderful outcome from building a community is a group of new friends! Every week, we ask some get-to-know-you questions for Flourishing Friday. It’s a fun way to get to know each other better and helps break the ice for all of our other conversations. Our latest Workr Beeing event felt pretty intimate with all the people we’ve already gotten to know joining in! We know that an effective recovery tactic is spending time with friends. Thus, finding new friends and finding ways to connect with them is an additional benefit to being part of a like-minded community!
In case, you haven’t joined in yet, check out our community here and join in on the support, advice, and fun!
